Pre-ADCC interview: Devi Ahuja

After winning the ADCC European Championships in Turku, you are now qualified for the ADCC World Championships 2011. Is this a dream come true?
Yes it is. I don’t know how many years I will keep fighting, so this was a great opportunity for me. To fight among the best is always a dream.

How has your last grappling year been?
My training is always good because of good teachers and support from my teammates. I have always been training mostly with gi, but it is fun to take it off and it is going well. I fought as much as I could, but this year I had to deal with some injuries and I also have a new job that take a lot of my time. But all in all it has been good.

How are you preparing for the ADCC Worlds 2011?
I am always training a lot, but now I am changing my gi training for no gi, and I am going to the gym. I have great girls on my team to train with and they and the rest of my team are helping me every day.

What do you think about competitors list so far?
Impressive, and I can’t wait to be in the same tournament as these fighters.

Which opponent do you wish to face in the first round?
It doesn’t matter to me who I will meet first.

Your favorite submission?
That’s my secret. 😉
